You can find out more about each one of these and how you best express your heartfelt compassion to others by reading Gary Chapman's book called, "The Five Love Languages."
We have been experiencing each of these expressions of love by our generous family, friends, and neighbors. Your blessings arrive wrapped up in different packages, but each one is touching our hearts in a unique and special way. Some have given their "Words of Affirmation" through their thoughts and prayers, in person, in phone calls, or in cards and e-mails. Others have spent "Quality Time" sitting with us, crying with us, laughing with us, and just helping us sort through our emotions. Others have blessed our family with "Acts of Service" by spending nights at the hospital, bringing over a wonderful home-cooked meal and even walking our dogs, Frannie & Shiloh. Our hearts have been warmed by the "Physical Touch" of your hugs!! The "Gift-givers" have found unique ways to express their love. The donation of 1500 hats to the vast army of prayer warriors was just the beginning. Other have given us beautifully wrapped gifts of books and other items to show us their support. Each of us are uniquely designed by God to give and receive the love and support of others.
1 Corinthians 13: 13 says, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE."
There are also gift-givers who want
to give monetarily through donations and fundraisers. We have set up a Benefit
Account in Justin's name at Bank of America, Acct# 004652967348. We believe
God has a plan for these funds. We don't know where this journey is going to
take us. There is the possibility of additional medical bills and procedures
that may not be covered by insurance. Another, consideration is a bone-marrow
drive. Right now, there is a $65.00 fee for anyone who donates their blood for
marrow testing and perhaps this money could cover the charge to the donor.
We are also considering establishing a foundation in Justin's name. At the Phoenix
Children's Hospital many foundations are formed, most of which are in the "Memory
of" a deceased child. Our desire would be to set up a Justin Cude Living
Foundation, with the options of giving to: Leukemia Research, The Phoenix Children's
Hospital, or giving grants to cancer families in need.
We want to thank each one of you for expressing your own unique language of love to us. One is not better than another and all of them have blessed us enormously. There is one gift we all have in common: Communicating with God through prayer. Your prayers are the most treasured gift of all. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Mike & Barb
